Genetic Engineering, or genetic modification, is the process of manipulating an organism & genome using biotechnology. The process involves inserting a new DNA into the host genome. This is done by first isolating and copying the genetic material of interest using molecular cloning methods to generate a DNA sequence. Another way is to synthesize the DNA, and then insert it into the host organism. Genetic Engineering studies the method in which traits and characteristics of an organism are transmitted through generations. Genetic Engineering graduates get the opportunity to work in medical and pharmaceutical industries, agriculture industries, research, and development to name a few.
