It is home to a nationally ranked B-school (IMT Ghaziabad), a newly declared deemed university (KIET), a top-10 research academy (AcSIR), a private medical university (Santosh) and dozens of AKTU-affiliated engineering colleges along the Delhi-Meerut corridor.

This guide lists the best colleges and universities in Ghaziabad stream by stream, with their NIRF 2025 standing, main courses, admission route, locality and official website. Fees and cut-offs change every year, so treat all figures as approximate and confirm them on each institute's site.

How admission works for colleges in Ghaziabad

Each stream has its own entrance exam and counselling. In outline:

  1. B.Tech (AKTU colleges): take JEE Main, then register for UPTAC, AKTU's counselling, on the official portal. UPTAC 2026 Round 1 ran in July. Seats go mainly to UP-domicile candidates and students who passed Class 12 in UP; others should read the UPTAC brochure for eligibility.
  2. KIET: as a deemed university, it now publishes its own admission notice (JEE Main for B.Tech, CUET for pharmacy and PG). Follow its website for the 2027 cycle.
  3. MBBS / BDS: take NEET UG. Santosh (deemed) seats go through MCC counselling; other private medical and dental seats in UP go through UP state NEET counselling.
  4. MBA / PGDM: IMT accepts CAT, XAT or GMAT; other B-schools also take MAT, CMAT or ATMA.
  5. BA / B.Sc / B.Com: apply through CCS University's admission process or directly to affiliated colleges, usually on Class 12 merit.

How to choose the right college in Ghaziabad

  • Check NIRF and accreditation: NIRF ranks, NAAC grades and NBA-accredited branches are better signals than adverts.
  • Read the placement report, not the brochure: look at median salary and how many students were placed, branch by branch.
  • Factor in the commute: colleges near Muradnagar are 25-30 km from Delhi; the Delhi-Meerut RRTS (Namo Bharat) line has made the corridor easier to reach.
  • Compare total cost: add hostel, transport and exam fees to tuition.

Tip: Some websites with old college names now show betting or spam pages. Use the official domains listed in this guide, or the AKTU, CCS University and MCC portals, before you share documents or pay fees.

Scholarships for students in Ghaziabad

Fees at private colleges in Ghaziabad add up quickly, so look for funding early. UP students can apply for the UP Post-Matric Scholarship (for SC, ST, OBC, minority and general-category students within income limits), and central schemes are listed on the National Scholarship Portal. AICTE's Pragati and Saksham schemes support girls and students with disabilities in technical courses.

Merit-based options also help. The AISEE scholarship rewards Class 12 and college students who do well in its national exam and can be used at participating colleges. See our guides on scholarships for engineering students and scholarships after 12th for more.
