What is BJMC?
BJMC teaches you how news and media are made. You learn reporting and editing, anchoring, photography, video shooting and editing, radio, and writing for print and the web, along with media law, ethics and Indian media history.
Most programmes run campus newspapers, community radio, TV studios or YouTube channels, and require internships in newsrooms, PR agencies or digital-media companies. Later semesters add advertising, PR, social-media strategy and data journalism.
Similar degrees go by other names: BA (Hons) Journalism (DU colleges), BA Mass Communication, BMM (Mumbai) or BA Media and Communication. BJMC is broader than a pure journalism degree because it also covers advertising, PR and film.

Scope & higher studies
India's media is shifting fast towards digital: news websites, YouTube, podcasts, regional-language platforms and OTT now hire more than traditional print. Brands also need communication professionals for social media, PR and content marketing, so BJMC graduates have options well beyond the newsroom.
Entry-level pay is modest and competition is high, so students who build a portfolio, learn video and data tools, and work in more than one language have the best prospects in 2026.
